In 1970, Giorgio Gagliardini took over from his father, Emilio, and founded Oxon with the aim of developing and synthesize active ingredients.
In 2018, Sipcam and Oxon became a single company led by the new generation of the Gagliardini and Ciocca families.

Emilio Gagliardini and Baldo Ciocca form SIPCAM with the aim to create an innovative and highly technical agrochemical company for the agriculture market in Italy.
Relationship with Japan begins. In 1969 in cooperation with Nippon Soda company distributes an innovative benzimidazole fungicide, Enovit, based on thiofanate, which obtains the first authorisation "in accordance with the law", according to Presidential Decree No. 255 of 3 August 1968. To this product, distributed by SIPCAM, is in fact assigned the number 00001, dated 14 April 1970.
The production plant in Mezzana Bigli, in the Province of Pavia, is built on a total area of 50 hectares. To boost the development of the company Giorgio Gagliardini created Oxon to back integrate the synthesis of the active ingredients with very skilled management.
These are crucial years of change: an era of development into international markets opens.
In 1972, the new Salerano sul Lambro facility is inaugurated, with modern formulation plants based on new technologies and a research centre with high potential. The project also includes new residue formulation and analysis laboratories, and an area to be used for field and greenhouse experimentation. An extremely ambitious and wide-ranging project.
The inauguration of a new plant in Sueca, with the acquisition of the Spanish company Inagra,
leads to the production of new, more modern formulations derived from older molecules. Operations also begin in Brazil.
SipcamOxon SpA acquires minor shares in Sulichem and Bailly, two Chinese chemical manufacturers.
Agroqualità, a Sipcam Division dedicated to fertilisers, begins to exclusively distribute the Asgrow branded range of soybean seeds.
Sipcam SpA acquires the Monsanto production site in Lodi, for the selection, storage and processing of seeds. An acquisition that strengthens the role of the Agroquality Division, which starts to sell both seeds and fertilizers under the Sipcam brand in 2014.
Sipcam Oxon has established alliances in the European countries and in Australia with Sumitomo Corporation and with Nihon Noyaku, and a JV with Nihon Noyaku in Brazil to expand the distribution platforms.
From the merge of Sipcam and Oxon, Sipcam Oxon is born. A company that has in its DNA the principles of trust, strength, and independence, typical of a family business, supported and enhanced by managerial figureheads with great professional skills.
